Gerda Anna Williams

Gerda Williams, 82, passed away peacefully at home with friends and family on Tuesday, August 11, 2009. Gerda was born in Ottendorf Germany on March 28, 1927.

She met and married Willie Williams while he was serving in the US Army during WWII. Gerda made the journey to the United States alone arriving on Christmas Day 1947, with the couple eventually settling in Oklahoma City.

A strong and determined woman, Gerda learned English by reading Blondie comic strips. Although widowed at a young age, she took great pride in raising her two daughters. She determinedly insisted on independently residing in the family home with her beloved cats until her passing.

Gerda leaves behind two daughters, Debbra and Becky, and a son-in law, David.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and her husband Willie.
