Carolyn Wilburn, age 81 of Goldsby, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2020, at the Purcell Municipal Hospital.

Carolyn Sue Corbin was born October 15, 1939 in Norman, OK, the baby of three children born to Elvis and Jewel (Baldwin) Corbin. She was raised in Norman and attended school there, graduating with the Class of 1957. Carolyn attended OBU for a time and then attended Business School, before taking a job as a bookkeeper.

Her life would change forever, when she met a young man named Buster Wilburn. They fell in love and were married on July 2, 1965. Together they raised two children, John and Jill. They made Norman their home for the next 11 years before moving to Goldsby in 1976. Carolyn worked side by side with Buster in the family business, Wilburn Mortgage and Investment Company.

When she wasn't working, she enjoyed a good day fishing and always cheered on her Sooners Football team. Family was everything for Carolyn, and she cherished spending family time, and especially with her grandchildren. She was fun spirited, loved a good joke, and on occasion liked to prank a little herself. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, sister, aunt and a true friend.

She will be dearly missed!

She was preceded in death by: Her husband, Buster Wilburn; Grandson, Heath Morris and her Parents, Elvis and Jewel Corbin.

She is survived by: her son, John Wilburn and wife Robyn of Ada, her daughter, Jill Weber and husband Billy of Norman; Two brothers, Bob Corbin and wife Joyce of Searcy, AR and Bill Corbin and wife Wanda of Austin, TX; five grandchildren, Ashley and husband Woodrow, Taylor, Sean, A.J. and Ethan and several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
