Born March 16, 1923 to J. M. Shobert and Rosa (Frizzel) Shobert in Noble OK.

He lived in Noble and attended Noble High School graduating in 1941. He met and married Imogene Reynolds in 1942. He was drafted into the infantry in 1943. He served over seas in New Caledonia, New Hebrides and was in combat in Okinawa Japan. He was with the first infantry group to land in Japan after combat was over. He received an honorary discharge with a rating of staff sergeant in 1945 and a purple heart. He owned and operated a flooring company for several years. Then worked and retired from Sears in 1980.
He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and travel.

He is survived by three daughters: Alva Gene Howard of Porum, OK. Janice Kaye Duroy of Aransas Pass, TX and Rose Mary Howard of Norman, OK. Seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, three brothers, three sisters, two grandchildren, one great grandchild, and one great great grandchild.
 
Veiwing for Mr. Shobert will be Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Havenbrook Funeral Home from 1:00 – 6:00p.m.

Graveside services will be Monday, October 23, 2017, 1:00p.m., at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Noble, OK
