Glenn Dale Miller, age 77 of Goldsby, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, November 26, 2017, following a brief illness.

Dale was born on July 19, 1940 in Wanette, OK. He was the fourth of five children born to William Ray Miller and Lucille Marie (Laurent) Miller. Dale grew up a farm boy living in Wanette before moving to Goldsby as a teenager. While living in Goldsby, he attended Washington schools, graduating with the class of 1958. As a teenager he helped his parents operate the Goldsby Store which is now the location of Libby’s Café. Dale later met and married Lillian Carole Tarver of Goldsby on March 14, 1963, and together they raised two sons, Kelly and Kent. Dale remained living and working in the Goldsby community throughout his life. For 20 years he worked as a barber and hair dresser in Washington. He also spent time as a farmer, as well as owning and operating a service station in Goldsby. Additionally, he drove a patrol vehicle for the town of Goldsby, acting as a community security guard and later in life worked in maintenance for the Goldsby Town Hall. Dale was above all a servant of his Lord Jesus, as well as his church and community. He was a lifelong member of the Goldsby Baptist Church where for many years he was the church music leader while Carole played the piano. He also served as a Sunday school teacher and as a deacon. Dale served as the Mayor of Goldsby and was also on the Town Council. He was instrumental in helping establish the Goldsby Volunteer Fire Department and served as the Fire Chief for many years. Throughout his life Dale mastered many hobbies, including fishing, photography and painting. His most recent form of entertainment was playing dominoes with the Tuesday night “Prayer Force One” group. He will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Lucille Miller, his wife Carole Miller, his sister Peggy Bouska, and brother Charles Miller.

He is survived by two sons, Kelly Miller and wife Susan of Norman, OK, Kent Miller and wife Nyla of Liberty Hill, TX., daughter Cherie Embry and husband Dale of Norman, his brother Ralph Miller and wife Darla of Norman, his sister Nancy Matsumura and husband Matt of Kihei, HI, four grandchildren, Emily, Sawyer, Bo and Lucy Miller, and many nieces and nephews whom he loved very much.

He is also survived by his longtime prayer partner, Virgie Andrews and her family of Goldsby.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017, at the Goldsby Baptist Church.
