Gordon F. Grissom, 75, Noble, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday April 20, 2014 in Norman.

He was born March 26, 1939 to Cyrus Dion and Nellie Stufflebean Grissom in Noble.  Gordon fought an extremely courageous battle for three months with a rare lung disease.

Gordon attended elementary, grades first through eight at Canada School in a one room school house south of Noble.  After graduation from Noble High School in 1957, he began his career in the milk industry which ultimately led to his acquisition of an independent milk distributorship in Atoka, Oklahoma.   Gordon built that business and became one of the largest distributors in the state.   Gordon was a fantastic salesman because he never met a stranger.   In addition to that, he was a top rate car salesman, winning many awards for salesman of the year.  In retirement, Gordon enjoyed working at the farm with his cows, hay, and tractors and taking care of his rental properties.  He took great pride in being the best milkman and landlord ever.

He was preceded in death by one son, Brian Grissom; three brothers, Vernon, Billy and Nolan; and two sisters, Nadine Pedersen and Evelyn Fox.

Gordon is survived by his wife, Sharon Grissom, of the home; four sons, Scott Grissom, Tim Grissom and wife Cyndi, Jeff Grissom and wife Laura, Tony Grissom and wife Jenni; five grandchildren, Taylor, Tate, Riley, Caden, and Jaxon Grissom; four sisters, Donnie Nell Northcutt, Joyce Brown, Mona Roberts and husband Elmer, Nona Argo and husband Wayne; and sisters-in-law, Jo Nell Grissom and Florence Grissom.  Gordon is survived by a host of family and friends.

Visitation for Gordon will be from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 23, 2014 with family receiving friends at Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook Street in Norman.
