Carla Ann (Ward) Blackburn 64 was born and raised in Lincoln Park, Michigan. She moved to Oklahoma with their mother and son in 1978 and attended The University of Tulsa where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology. She spent her career working for the Indian Health Service and the VA Administration. She retired from the VA Medical center in 2011 and resided in Oklahoma City. Carla loved home decorating, gardening, and had many other hobbies.

She is survived by her son, Mark Blackburn of Norman, OK, her aunt; Margaret Ray of Sulphur, OK, her cousins; Mr. and Mrs. John Funk of Oklahoma City, OK, Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Ray of Philadelphia, PA, Imogene Mowdy of Coalgate, OK, Clay and Kit Mowdy of Coalgate, OK, Traci and Steve Penney of Coalgate, OK, Lisa and Matt McKeon of Virginia, and Michele Mowdy Cook and her family of Edmond, OK. She was also blessed by many friends without whom she wouldn’t have made it through the last few years.

A visitation for Carla will be Sunday April 30, 2017 from 3pm-8pm @ Havenbrook Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 10:00am Monday May 1, 2017 at the Chapel in Havenbrook Funeral Home with interment to follow at Moore City Cemetery.
