Graveside services for Juanita Earlton Harmoning Griffith, 93, of Purcell were held Sept. 10, 2005 at Lexington Cemetery with Pastor Greg Wheat officiating. Services were under the direction of Wadley’s Funeral Service.
Mrs. Griffith died Sept. 8, 2005 at Sunset Estates Nursing Home.
She was born May 16, 1912 in Hilo, Mo., the daughter of Earl and Myrtle (Holland) Wright. She was reared and attended school in Robinson, Ark. She moved to Lexington in 1956, coming from California, and to Wayne in 1992 where she lived until 1996 before moving to Purcell.
On Oct. 3, 1961 she married Thurman Harmoning in Norman. She then married Lee Griffith on July 27, 1992.
Mrs. Griffith was a homemaker and a waitress.
She was a member of the Wayne Church of Christ and the Wayne Senior Citizens Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands and a sister, Fredonia Enoch.
Survivors include two sons, Marvin Harmoning of Lexington and Glenn Harmoning and his wife, Maryann, of Columbus, Ohio; two daughters, Linda Brownfield and her husband, Everett, of Oklahoma City and Donna Reynolds and her husband, Paul, of Noble; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Harmoning of Lexington; a brother, Kenyon Wright of Robinson, Ark.; a sister, LaVerne Cannon of Mountain Berg, Ark.; 17 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers were Micheal Harmoning, Kevin Harmoning, Tammi Lewis and Maranda Harmoning.
