Carnelia Black Amos age 78 of Noble, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Sunset Estates Nursing Home in Purcell. Carnelia was born on September 10, 1934 in Calumet, OK. Her parents were Clovis Alexander May and Elsie Lee (Crews) May. Carnelia grew up a farm girl in the Corbett community east of Lexington and attended the Corbett and Lexington schools. On September 8, 1951, she married Don Black. Together they made their home on a small acreage in the Little Axe community and raised four children. Carnelia loved living in the country where she could raise farm animals and grow a garden. She was a wonderful homemaker and provider, she often helped Don in his painting business and volunteered at her children’s school. After Don passed away in 1991, Carnelia later met and married Bob Amos. They were married on Nov. 17, 1995 and made their home in Noble. Carnelia never lost her love for animals and for many years enjoyed raising goats, birds and other farm animals. She also enjoyed going to garage sales, gardening, quilting, cooking and working with ceramics. She mainly enjoyed staying at home and babysitting her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: Parents: Clovis and Elsie May Husband: Don Black Grandson: Levi Joe Neash Brother: James May 2 sisters: Carnell Tharpe and Carlene Holland

She is survived by: Husband: Bob Amos of the home Four children: Donneta Kilgallen and husband Patrick of Noble Jan Neash and husband Bobby Joe of Little Axe Kenny Black and wife Missy of Norman David Black and wife Jennifer of Noble 1 sister: Lou Hunter and husband Pete of Norman 5 brothers: Don Tate and wife Wilma of Eufaula Auvis Tate and wife Pat of TX Gordon May and wife Eiko of Tucson, AZ Orel May and wife Judy of Miss. Rudy May and wife Donna of Kansas 13 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren Numerous niece, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell. Interment will be at the Lexington Cemetery, Lexington, OK.
