WILSON-LITTLE FUNERAL HOME
PURCELL-NEWCASTLE, MCCLAIN CO, OK
(permission granted)

Debra Lynn Burleson age 63 of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, died Friday, December 11, 2015 in OKC.

Deb was born on May 19, 1952 in Norman, OK, to Bill Brazil and Emma Zella (McCracken) Brazil.

She married the love of her life, Paul Wayne Burleson on Sept. 30, 1987 in Purcell, Oklahoma. Deb was an amazing and special person. She attended Arizona State University. She was an entrepreneur who owned many businesses, including a restaurant, a video store, an arcade and a tanning salon. She managed many nationally owned retail stores. Most importantly, she helped and nurtured anyone she could. She never met a stranger, and would take time to assist anyone who needed it. She was a friend who always took time to talk and help, no matter what else was going on in her life. She understood the value of time spent together over a well-prepared meal, or even just a cup of coffee. She was a strong children’s rights advocate. In addition to adopting thirteen children and fostering over thirty more children, she worked tirelessly to ensure that children who were abandoned by their families and society received the care and support they needed. She was someone to whom others came to for psychological, emotional and physical healing. She will be sorely missed.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father and her stepfather, Lee Barnett. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Steve Brazil, her son, Guy Brazil, her daughter, Trina Kay Burleson, her stepson, Wayne Eugene Burleson, her stepson Paul Burleson, Jr., and her grandparents Bill and Vera McCracken.

She is survived by her husband of the home, Paul Burleson, as well as twelve children: Michelle Burleson, Destiny LaRae Burleson, Rebecca Galloway, Angel Burleson, Laurence Burleson, Destinie Burleson, Meika Burleson, McKenzie Burleson, Walker Burleson, Kyria Burleson and Khoury Burleson, all of Tecumseh, and Brian Gabriel of Oklahoma City. She is also survived by her stepdaughters, Paula Britain of Asher, Connie Burleson of Dougherty, and Tammy Jones of Sulphur; and stepsons Roy Gene Burleson of Lexington, and Steven Lynn Burleson of Carnegie. She is further survived by her sister, LeaAnn Isley and husband Lorren of Purcell, and her nieces April Gillen and husband T.J. of Purcell, and Carrie Brazil of Illinois as well as her nephews, Zane Isley of Purcell and Billy Brazil of Florida. She is also survived by her aunt, Della Dallas of Yuma, Arizona and her daughters of the heart, Leslie Walls, Amanda Ellette and Geraldine Claunch. She leaves eight grandchildren, thirty grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will greet visitors at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell from 6-8pm on Mon. Dec. 14, 2015. Funeral Services will be held at Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel 2:00 pm Tues. Dec. 15, 2015.

Interment will be at the Chappel Hill Cemetery, east of Lexington, OK.
