Services for Russell Gourd, age 29, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 31 in the Sequoyah High School Gymnasium. Interment will follow at the Keener Cemetery, in Lost City. Services have been entrusted to the Hart Funeral Home of Tahlequah. Russell Gourd was born February 14, 1979, in Tahlequah, to Rudy Leon Gourd and Kathleen (Fixin) Gourd. He earned his living as a carpenter. Russell departed this life on Monday, October 27, 2008, along with his father, Rudy, and brother, Eli. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Jonas R. Gourd; his maternal grandfather, the Rev. Eli Fixin; and his great-grandfather, the Rev. Joe Drywater.Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Kathleen and Ted Brown, of Tahlequah; his wife, Amy Jett-Gourd, of Fort Gibson; two daughters, Lola Josaphine Gourd and Cierra Miranda Gourd, both of Fort Gibson; one sister, Emily Gourd, of Tahlequah; grandmother, Vivian Gourd, of Tahlequah; and grandmother, Irene Fixin, of Muskogee; great-grandmother, Lucy Sands Drywater, of Tahlequah; one stepbrother, Charles Brown of Muskogee; one stepsister, Susan Thomason, of Warner; three nephews, Grant David Neugin, Barry Joe Neugin and Garrett Turn Neugin; as well as many friends and loved ones.Hart Funeral Home, 1506 N.
