Hello, I am Mel O., temporary area coordinator for Cherokee County,

Oklahoma. Okcemeteries is staffed entirely by volunteers -- that means we recieve no pay. Our goal is to get every headstone in every cemetery in Cherokee County online. This is an effort to preserve the headstones as well as to help others in their research.

If you have burial information or can give directions to any of the Cherokee County cemeteries that I can place on the website or can take a gate photo or have obits (with newspapers permission or an obit that you can write) or tombstone photos or individual portraits or can write a short bio or have a history of any of the Cherokee County cemeteries and would like to add your information to this website, contact the area coordinator for more information. You can also check out our How to Submit page. I also welcome lookup volunteers, so if you have information/references that will help those researching their roots, please e-mail the area coordinator.
