Marvin Mitchell Currie of Wynnewood, Oklahoma was born to John and Annie (Martin) Currie on May 15, 1925, in Buckhorn, Oklahoma, and passed from this life on June 11, 2011, at his home in Wynnewood, Oklahoma at the age of 86 years.

Marvin married Emma Lou Riddle on November 22, 1945, in Phoenix, Arizona. He worked as an electrician at the Kerr McGee Refinery in Wynnewood. In his spare time he enjoyed horses, rodeos, and his grandchildren. The most important thing he taught others about life were to (in his words) "Cowboy Up," "Hang Tough," and "Take the bull by the horns."

Mr. Currie is survived by: Son: Randel Currie and wife Debi of Durant, Oklahoma. Daughter: Sandra Currie Johnson of Wynnewood, Oklahoma. Brother: Johnnie Currie of Garland, Texas. 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 4 greatgreat-grandchildren.

Mr. Currie was preceded in death by: His parents: John and Annie Currie, His son: Mitch Currie, His wife: Emma Lou Currie.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Rose Hill Cemetery in Ardmore, Oklahoma. You may send a condolence to the family at www.woosterfuneralhomes.com.
