Audrey Corner, 96, of Whitewright, Texas died Friday, Dec. 8, 2006 at Leonard Nursing Home in Leonard, Texas.
Services were held Monday, Dec. 11, 2006 at Church of Christ, Whitewright, Texas under the direction of Earnheart Funeral Home with Frazier Conley officiating. Burial was at Rosehill Cemetery in Ardmore, Okla.
Audrey was born on Aug. 17, 1910 in Altus, Okla., to Richard Ross Gandy and Mary Ella (Hillis) Gandy. She married Clyde Corner on Aug. 22, 1937 in Wilson, Okla. Clyde Corner died March 11, 1975 after 37 years of marriage.
She graduated from Wilson High School in 1928 and attended Abilene Christian College and Southeastern State Teacher's College in Durant. She began teaching in Wilson, Okla., in 1930.
She taught elementary school in Chandler in 1965.
Audrey was a member of the Whitewright Church of Christ for 80 years.
