Services for Gary Don Howard, 35, of Marietta were Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. in Marietta's First Baptist Church with Rev. W.S. McMurtrey and Rev. Tommy Higle officiating.

Mr. Howard was born September 13, 1963, at Ardmore, the son of Calvin R. and Anita Owens Howard, and died May 29, 1999, in Ardmore.  A resident of Love County most of his life, Mr. Howard married Trisha Bartgis on November 9, 1997, in Marietta.  A graduate of Marietta High School's Class of 1983, Mr. Howard was a U.S. Army veteran.  He was a plant utility and truck driver for Glen Oaks of Marietta.  Mr. Howard attended the Assembly of God Church of Marietta and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Anita Howard of Marietta; his wife, Mrs. Trisha Howard of the home; three daughters, Stacie Howard of the home, and Samantha Howard and Jamie Howard of Purcell; four stepchildren, Jacob Canizalez of Oklahoma City and Stephanie Canizalez, Jesse Cooper and Cody Cooper of the home; two brothers and sister-in-law, Ralph and Valarie Howard of Wilson and David Howard of Marietta.

Mr. Howard was preceded in death by his father, Calvin R. Howard on February 14, 1997.

Interment was in the McAlister Cemetery under the direction of Kennedy Funeral Home. 

Pallbearers were Arthar Hughes, Sam Howard, Jimmy Dunnagan, Jack Howard, Kelly Scarce and Clayton Hughes.  Honorary bearers were Rick Brannan, Tom Burkhart, Carly Shivers and Don Howard.
