James Henry "Jim" Niece

Niece Service Held at Cobb

Funeral services for James Henry "Jim" Niece, 83, of Fort Cobb, were McAllister, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating.

Niece was born Aug. 24,1894 in Kentucky. He died Sept. 11 at his home.

A retired farmer, Niece moved to Oklahoma with his parents as a young boy, settling near Mountain Park.

He and the former Berdie Mae Woodward were married in 1915 at Mountain Park. They moved to the Fort Cobb area in 1931. His wife died in 1966. Niece was also preceded in death by an infant son.

Survivors include two sons, Ferd of Alfalfa and J.H. of Fort Cobb; a sister, Malinda Kenney of Carnegie; a brother, Benton of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
