Aleathea [Richardson] Henderson

Traffic Accident Fatal

Services Tuesday Mrs. Henderson

Final rites for Mrs. T.H. Henderson, Fort Cobb resident and state pioneer, were held there Tuesday afternoon following her death early Sunday from injuries received in a traffic accident Thursday night.

Coming to the state in 1890 and with her husband to Fort Cobb in 1901, she was a member of the Eastern Star and participated in many of the community activities.

Funeral services were conducted in the Christian by R.E. Harvey, assisted by Rev. Digby, pastor, and Rev. Mathew Botone. Member of the Eastern star were honorary pall bearers and flower bearers were immediate friends of the family. Burial was in the Oak Grove cemetery in Fort Cobb.

Miss Allie Richardson was born at Appleton City, Mo. in 1875.

She was married to T.H. Henderson December 18, 1895 and to them four children were born, two having preceded her in death.

Besides her husband she is survived by her daughter, Miss Maude Henderson, Caddo county teacher, and Chester Henderson of Fort Cobb. Also surviving are six grandchildren and two brothers, J.R. Richardson, Maysville, and T.J. Richardson, Lindsay.

The fatal accident occurred four miles east of Carnegie. Mr. and Mrs. Henderson, Miss Maude Henderson and a small daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Henderson were driving east on Highway No. 9 when their car collided with a truck driven by James Johnson, about 40, of Anadarko. Mrs. Henderson suffered severe injuries and did not regain consciousness. None of the other occupants of the car was seriously hurt altho Miss Henderson received painful bruises about the back and shoulders.

Chester Leroy Henderson

Came to the Fort Cobb area with his parents when he was five years of age.

Married Cordia Mae Harris on May 1, 1921 at Fort Cobb.

They lived in Fort Cobb since that time, first on a farm one mile south, two miles west and one north of Fort Cobb, then on a farm just north of there. They moved to their present farm in 1930, and built a new home in 1941.

They have farmed for the past 55 years. Their children-Vernon, Harold, R.G., Ralph, Mrs. Boyd Goodwin, Herbert and Curt.

Euvonda [Griffin] Henderson

Euvonda was born on July 5, 1927 in Rush Springs, OK to Roy Melvin and Eunice [Goza] Griffin and died on Monday, August 20, 2018 in Corn, OK, at the age of 91 years, 1 month, and 15 days.

Euvonda married Thomas Harold Henderson on May 26, 1945 in Carnegie, OK and they made their home in Fort Cobb for most of their lives.

She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, better known as "Mamaw". A skilled homemaker, Euvonda was very well known for her sewing and cooking. She willingly prepared many meals at the First Baptist Church where she and her family were members for many years. She was a tireless caregiver and advocate for Harold when his health failed, and was an example of love and perseverance during that very difficult time.

Euvonda is survived by one sister: Loretta Rowell of Oklahoma City, OK; four children: Tom Henderson and wife, Debey of Richardson, TX; Alethea Gibson and husband, David of Oklahoma City, OK; Ron Henderson and wife, Cindy of Weatherford, OK; and Deb Shaleen and husband, Dan of San Antonio, TX.; twelve grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Eunice Griffin, one infant brother, and her husband, Thomas Harold Henderson.

Mrs. Henderson also leaves behind many other relatives and friends, as well as the compassionate caregivers from the Corn Heritage Village and those from Faith Hospice who cared for her in her final days. Words cannot express our gratitude.

Connie [Bordon] Henderson

Connie B. Henderson, 77, of Fort Cobb, Oklahoma passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 in Anadarko, Oklahoma.

She was born on August 1, 1939 in Fort Cobb to Vernon Ben and Margaret Leota [Bidleman] Borden.

She grew up in Fort Cobb and graduated from Fort Cobb High School.

She married Herbert "Bart" Henderson on April 12, 1957 in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma.

Connie lived most of her life in Fort Cobb except for a few short years her and Bart traveled to different states working for a drilling company during the early 1960's. She worked for over 20 years in the Fort Cobb School District in the lunchroom. She worked for the Caddo County Election Board. She had worked for Fort Cobb Funeral Homes for many years.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Fort Cobb, Oklahoma. She is survived by: 2 sons and daughter-in-laws: Johnnie and Beverly Henderson, Fort Cobb, OK, James and Stacy Henderson, Collinsville, OK, 2 daughters: Nancy Henderson and special companion, Bill Whitman, Ft. Cobb, OK, Margaret Ann and her husband, Josh Tycer, Ft. Cobb, OK, Daughter-in-law: Connie Jo Henderson, Ft. Cobb, OK, Grandchildren: Billy Joe Henderson, Tucson, Arizona; Kearsten Williams, Ft. Cobb, OK;, Dr. Kyle Glenn and Michelle Henderson, Yukon, OK; Kellon Henderson, Oklahoma Cityl, OK; Devon and Courtney Berndsen, Ft. Cobb, OK; Cole and Katie Whitman, Anadarko, OK; Bria Chaffin and Alexandria Tycer, Ft. Joel Glenn Henderson

Joel Glenn Henderson was born on April 24, 1962 to Herbert 'Bart' Henderson and Connie [Borden] Henderson in Ely, Nevada.

He passed from this earth on April 24, 2016 at the Anadarko Hospital after a short battle with cancer.

Joe grew up in Fort Cobb where he attended school and graduated in 1980.

After graduation he worked a wide range of occupations, including working at the Locker Plant and at Donnie Martin's filling station. He had a custom harvesting business that took him to many interesting places. Joe owned a trucking business hauling commodities across the state. He spent the last few years helping Bobby and Rusty Repp .

He and his wife, Connie Jo, fulfilled his dream of building a cattle heard which he loved.

Joe met the love of his life, Connie Jo Red, in 2000 and they were married on April 12, 2006 in St Thomas, US Virgin Islands. He loved to snorkel and have the white sand between his toes.

He loved being with his family and granddaughters, Kennedy and McKinley. He was the best Poppy Joe ever. Joe loved spending time with them. He liked to talk about anything to do with farm related activities and cows. One of Joe's favorite hobbies was noodling for catfish and fishing. Joe loved to visit and meet new people. The friends he made were for life. Joe had a unique way of telling a story.

Joe was preceded in death by his father, Bart Henderson, several uncles, aunts, and his grandparents.

He is survived by his wife, Connie Jo, of the home. One son, Billy Joel of AZ, two Granddaughters, Kennedy Jo Pryor and McKinley Dawn Marie Pryor of Tucson, AZ. His Mother Connie B Henderson of Fort Cobb, two brothers, Johnnie Henderson of Fort Cobb and James Henderson of Collinsville, OK, two sisters, Nancy Henderson and Margaret Tycer of Fort Cobb, numerous relatives and friends and a special recognition to some close friends through thick and thin: Bill Whitman, James Red, Rusty Repp and Deidra Henderson.
