Grover Columbus Taylor
1949 ~ 2020


Grover Columbus Taylor was born on April 20, 1949 in Anadarko to C. W. & Ramona [Blacuburn] Taylor and died Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City having reached 71 years, 5 months and 16 days.

Grover was a citizen of the Delaware Nation, and was raised in Anadarko and graduated high school there in 1967. He was the oldest of the six "Taylor boys" - Grover, John, Robert, Alan "Zack", Jerry and James.

Grover received his Associates Degree at the Saint Anthony Radiology Program before starting his career in the radilogy department at Southwestern Memorial Hospital in Weatherford.

Grover married Gail Lee Simpson in Clinton, Oklahoma, on February 4, 1972. They made their home in Weatherford where they raised two children, Randall and Leslie.

Grover married Linda Kraft on September 29, 2006, in Weatherford. They lived a happy life together until his death. Grover loved Linda so much, and he was blessed with two bonus children and four more grandchildren.

Grover is survived by his wife, Linda, of their home in Weatherford; one son, Randall Lyn Taylor of Colorado Springs, Colorado; one daughter, Leslie Diane Taylor and her husband, Dylan Yeager of Ada, Oklahoma; one step-son, Marcus and Colby Wright of Weatherford, Oklahoma; one step-daughter, Nikki and Luke Schalla of Arapaho, Oklahoma; four brothers, Robert Taylor of Carnagie, Oklahoma; Alan "Zack" Taylor of Nashville, Tennessee; James Taylor of Kansas City, Missouri; Jerry Taylor of Henrietta, Texas; twelve grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded i death by his parents, his wife, Gail and his brother, John.

Grover retired from Weatherford Regional Hospital as Director of Radiology after about 45 years of service.

He enjoyed fishing and hunting in his early years before taking up golf, and you could find him on the golf course every morning. He loved harvesting cedar and creating beautiful furniture from it. He and Linda liked to watch COPS, and he loved to read too.

Grover was most proud of his grandchildren: Ryan Taylor, Reagan Taylor, Caleb Taylor, Eric Taylor, Emma Taylor, Monica Guajardo, Austen Guajardo, Vance Yeager, Madison Schalla, Wacey Schalla, Max Wright and Harvey Wright.

The Taylor Family Would like to express their thanks to the Weatherford Regional Hospital and Oklahoma Heart Hospital doctors, nurses and other caregivers for providing the best possible care to Grover.
