© Chickasha Express~Star Chickasha, Oklahoma August 10 ~ 11, 2009 Melvin Jerry Morris Jr December 31, 1928 ~ August 6, 2009 Graveside service for Melvin Jerry Morris, Jr., 80, Cement will be 2 PM Saturday at the Cement Cemetery with Pastor Tommy Britt, First Pentecostal Holiness Church, Chickasha officiating. Mr. Morris died Thursday in Oklahoma City. Burial will be under the direction of Becker Cement Chapel, formerly Robbins Cement Chapel. He was born December 31, 1928 in Cement to Melvin Jerry, Sr. and Ethel [Robinson] Morris. He married Virginia L. Williams on February 21, 1956 in Anadarko. Mr. Morris served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1951 until 1953. He had been a welder for more than 40 years. Survivors include his wife, of the home, six children and their spouses; Denise Kennell, Blanchard, Faron and Dana Morris, Anadarko, Brian and Patricia Morris, Anadarko, Darryl Morris, Manya and Leroy Turner and Patrick Morris, all of Cement, twelve grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a sister; Patsy Garvin and her husband James, Chickasha and a brother; Jimmy Morris and his wife Lavonna, Blanchard.
