© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, February 2, 1966 Leona Roberta [Waller] Stocking Funeral Services For Mrs. Stocking Are Held Sunday Funeral services for Mrs. Harry Stocking, well-known nurse for many years, were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the First Baptist church. Rev. James Weston, pastor, officiated. Burial was in the Carnegie cemetery with in the Carnegie cemetery with Pitcher Funeral Home in charge. Mrs. Stocking died Friday afternoon in the Anadarko hospital after a long illness. She had been in an Oklahoma City hospital for some time before being transferred to the Anadarko hospital about ten days before her death. She had been ill since January, 1961, and had been hospitalized at different times. Leona Roberta Waller was born August 22, 1917, at Hastings, Okla. She was married to Harry V. Stocking May 1, 1942, at El Reno. She had worked as a nurse at the Anadarko hospital before moving to Carnegie in 1940. She was a member of the First Baptist church. Survivors include the husband of the home, north of town; two daughters, Janice of the home and Mrs. Dale Brown of Anadarko; her mother, Mrs. Eula Waller of Carnegie; her father, Arnold Waller of Big Springs, Texas; two brothers, J.B. Waller of Hughson, Calif., and John of San Bruno, Calif.; one granddaughter, Roberta Ann Brown of Anadarko and other relatives. |
© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma October 8, 2003 Mary Louise Reynolds Stocking Funeral services for Mary Louise Stocking, 72, of Carnegie were held Friday, October 3, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Carnegie with Dean Derieg officiating. Louise was born July 4, 1931 in Carnegie to Madison Randolph and Mattie Belle [Anderson] Reynolds and died Tuesday, September 30, 2003 at the Carnegie Tri-County Municipal Hospital. She lived in the Carnegie area all of her life. She married Hugh Arlin Stocking on December 9, 1950 in Hobart. He preceded her in death in 1995. She enjoyed her family and was a member of the First Baptist Church if Carnegie. She is survived by two sons, Ronnie Hazle and wife DeeAnn of Mountain View, Kenny Stocking and wife, Donna Kay of Eakly; two daughters, Beverly Ann Clemons of Carnegie and LaDonna Jo Haskell and husband, Craig of Yukon; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one sister, Noveline Record of Carnegie. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hugh; one granddaughter, Shannon Leigh Hazle; one grandson, Brady Don Stocking; five brothers and four sisters. Burial was in the Carnegie Cemetery under the direction of the Pitcher-Hackney Funeral Home in Carnegie. |
© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, April 23, 1975 Janice [Stocking] Clift Burns Fatal For Woman Funeral services for Mrs. Mike Clift, victim of a gas explosion at her home in Goodwell, Okla., April 13, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Carnegie Baptist church. Rev. Ron Baugh of Goodwell, officiated. Mrs. Clift, a Carnegie student attending Goodwell State college, died of the explosion burns Saturday at Parkland Burn Center in Dallas. Burial was at the Carnegie cemetery under the direction of the Fort Cobb Funeral Home. Mrs. Clift, the former Janice Stocking, was fatally burned when leaking gas in a bedroom in her home at Goodwell exploded when she turned on a light switch. The gas had accumulated under the house from a leaking main in the street, it was reported. Her husband and adopted son, Glen, 7-years-old, were in the front of the house when the explosion occurred. They suffered only minor burns about the hands and head. The burn victim received emergency treatment at the Guymon and Amarillo hospitals before being flown to the burn center at Dallas. She suffered second and third degree burns over 60 percent of her body. Survivors include her husband and son, of the home; her father, Harry Stocking of Carnegie; a sister, Mrs. Dale Brown of Sayre; and two grandmothers, Mrs. Nora Stocking and Mrs. Ula Waller, both of Carnegie. Pallbearers were Ivan Graves, Andy Andrews, J.T. Clinton, Raymond Peck, Kenny Bailey and Kenny Stocking. |
