Jimmie Elvira Keeton Culbreath

Jimmie Elvira Culbreath was born March 27, 1929 in Coleman, Oklahoma to Burney L. Keeton and Edith Viola (Hokett) Keeton.

She was raised and attended school at Caney, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Frink Baptist Church. She and Talmadge (W.T.) Culbreath were married on January 26, 1946 in Atoka, Oklahoma. They were married for 41 years before he preceded her in death in 1987.

Jimmie retired after 23 years of service as a cook for McAlester Public Schools.

She enjoyed cooking, gardening, fishing with her husband, music, holidays and spending time with her family and friends. After her retirement she returned to Atoka, where she lived for 25 years before relocating to Shawnee to be near her children and grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and grandmother and was loved by all who knew her. Jimmie will be deeply missed but at the age of 93 has gone home to be with her Lord on Monday, August 15, 2022.

Survived by her 4 children; Clarence Culbreath and wife Cindy of Tecumseh, OK, Linda Gregory Ernst of Drumright, OK, Edith Talley of Tecumseh, OK, and Roy Culbreath of Meeker, OK; 13 grandchildren; Cindy Jo Stewart of Shawnee, OK, Scott Culbreath and wife Angela of Noble, OK, Christopher Culbreath and wife Gina of Edmond, OK, Derrek and Aubrey Gibson of Germany, Dustin Gregory of Tulsa, OK, Amon Gregory and wife Shivonne of Drumright, OK, Karmen Haley and husband Luke of Jenks, OK, Tiney Holyfield and husband B.J. of Tulsa, OK, Tami Hernandez of Norman, OK, Christa Gatewood and husband Chris of Norman, OK, James Burleson II and wife Stephanie of Tulsa, OK and John Culbreath and wife Maureen of Norman, OK; 27 great-grandchildren, Jesse and Jakob Stewart, Chelsea Culbreath, Christian and Jordan Hartman, Jaxson and Chloe Culbreath, Ainsley and Bailey Gibson, Brooks Gregory, Cole and Cody Gregory, Lillian, Layton and Lyla Haley, Haley and Daniel Hernandez, Alexis, Mikey, Amelia and Lilly Gatewood, Trey and Aidan Burleson, Max, Charlee and Lilly Culbreath and Alice Holyfield; 4 sisters-in-law, Marilyn Keeton off Durant, OK, Hazel Culbreath of Caney, OK, Joy Culbreath of Durant, OK and Marilyn Culbreath of Edmond, OK; several cousins and numerous nieces, nephews; and other extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Talmadge Culbreath; parents, Burney and Edith Keeton; 2 sisters, Nedra Ables and her husband Raymond, Carrie Ridgway and her husband Buck; one brother, Claudie Gene Keeton and his wife Sybil; 2 sons-in-law, Danny Talley and Loyd Ernst; and best friend, Wayne Hall.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 18, 2022 and continue through service time. Service will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 19, 2022 at Cooper Funeral Home with Pastor Stephanie Stephens, Broadway United Methodist Church, Tecumseh, OK officiating. Burial will follow at Caddo Cemetery with Brent Ables officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
