Wayne S. Throgmorton, 92, of Amarillo, TX died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008, in Amarillo.
Services will be 9 a.m. Friday at West View Christian Church with Jack Weems, pastor of First Christian Church of Dimmitt officiating. Graveside services will be 4 p.m. Friday in Watonga I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Watonga, OK. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St., Amarillo, TX.

Mr. Throgmorton was born in Southard, OK. He moved to Amarillo in 1997 from Annandale, VA. He lived in Enid and Watonga before moving to Annandale. He worked for U.S. Gypsum for 38 years. He retired in 1979 as the Quality Control Supervisor. Mr. Throgmorton was a member of West View Christian Church. He married Hattie Kohl in 1934.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1997. He also was preceded in death by an infant daughter and great-granddaughter.

Survivors include: two daughters, Ellen Throgmorton of Amarillo and Sue Schnell and her husband Keith of Lakeway; one son, Wayne Throgmorton and his wife Becky of Panhandle; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. They request memorial donations be to West View Christian Church Building Fund.
