Lois Louise (Hunter) Terry

Woodward, Okla. — Louis Louise (Hunter) Terry was born October 16, 1928 at Woodward, Oklahoma to Joe and Viola Hunter and passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at the age of 83. She was a resident of the Watonga Community for 52 years where she was co-owner of the Watonga theaters and cable TV entrepreneur..

She was also a teacher, teaching at various levels. She taught kindergarten, High School Languages and was also a professor at Southwestern College. She graduated from Oklahoma A&M 9OSU) and was active in the Alpha Delta Pi sorority and various organizations. She was married to Norman Ben Terry at the First Presbyterian Church in Woodward, Oklahoma on December 24, 1950. They were happily married for 55 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, were she was the church organist and taught Sunday School for several years. She had a love for music, books, foreign languages, and travel. She was an active member in the Watonga community, being a member of P.E.O. And various clubs.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and her twin sons; Norman Kirk and Seven Craig Terry. She is survived by one son, Mark Terry and wife Suznne of Dallas, Texas, two daughters, Susan Terry of Seattle, Washington; Lisa Rutledge and husband Travis of Mooreland, Oklahoma, two brothers, Hubert and wife Jo Ann of El Reno, Oklahoma; Everett and wife Louise of Woodward, Oklahoma five grandchildren, Taylor and Alex Terry of Dallas, Texas; Lora, Traci and Seth Rutledge of Mooreland, Oklahoma; as well as other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Lois Terry will be held Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. At the Ferguson Chapel in Watonga with Rev. Scott Ware officiating. Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Watonga with Wilkinson Mortuary of Watonga in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and/or the Ferguson Chapel in Watonga, Oklahoma.
