Dennis Ray Jackson

December 17, 1944 ~ January 12, 2021

Memorial service for Dennis Ray Jackson of Enid, will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 18, at World Harvest Church with Pastor Brad Mendenhall officiating. Burial will be at a later date at IOOF Cemetery in Watonga, OK. Donations can be made to OMRF kidney division with Ladusau-Evans serving as custodian of the funds.

A Memorial Service for Dennis Ray Jackson, age 76, of Enid, is 11:00 am, Monday, January 18, 2021 at World Harvest Church with Pastor Brad Mendenhall officiating. The United States Navy will provide military honors. Cremation and funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Dennis was born December 17, 1944 in Watonga, Oklahoma to David Ray and Sallie (Neumann) Jackson, and passed away January 12, 2021 at his home in Enid.

He attended Watonga Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1963. He excelled in football and was inducted into the Watonga Football Hall of Fame. He joined the United States Navy and served in Vietnam. He married Elsie Mae Unruh on April 15, 1966 at the Watonga First Baptist Church. They had four children, Audie, Aaron, Ronnie and Kimberly.

Dennis was a parts manager for George Russell then he bought his own parts store which he ran for several years before starting a career as service manager for different dealerships in Oklahoma and Texas where he was honored with several awards for outstanding service before retiring from General Motors and Isuzu in 2008. He and Elsie lived in Okeene until 2018 when they moved to Enid. He and Elsie were members of World Harvest Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, David and Sallie Jackson; and sister, Sandy Schechter. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Elsie, of the home in Enid; four children, Ronnie Jackson and wife Wendy, of Phoenix, AZ; Audie Jackson and wife Tracy, of Conroe, TX; Aaron Jackson and wife Dodi, of Frisco, TX; and Kimberly Aldrich and husband Buster, of Okeene, OK; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sherry Marshall and husband Bill, of Midland, TX; Linda Ashton of Watonga, OK; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial contributions in Dennis’s name may be made to the OMRF Kidney Division with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
