NOLA LAVERN CARTER

The funeral for Nola Lavern Carter, 58, of Watonga , will be 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29, 2008, at Christ Community Oasis Church, Watonga . The Rev. Dusty Giles will officiate. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery, Watonga . Arrangements are by Russworm Funeral Home, Watonga .

She was born June 2, 1950, in Oakwood to Leonard Smith and Georgia Hayes and died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, in Oklahoma City.

She graduated from Watonga High School. She became a beautician and worked 41 years. She married Darrell Carter Aug. 17, 1967. She was a member of Christ Community Oasis Church, where she taught Sunday school and played drums.

Surviving are her husband, Darrell of the home; her mother, Georgia L. Smith of Watonga ; three sons, Kenneth Carter of Muskogee, Darrell Carter Jr. of Canton and Joshua Carter of Duncan; three daughters, Trischelle Park and Samantha Griffith, both of Watonga and Delmra "Pooh" of Chester; two brothers, Virgil Smith Jr. and Thomas Leroy Smith, both of Watonga ; one sister, Teresa Pendgraft of Watonga ; and 10 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, one brother and one sister.
