Ernest G. Cannon Jr.
April 27, 1930 ~ June 27, 2021

Ernest G. Cannon Jr. was born on April 27, 1930, at Butler, Oklahoma to Ernest and Elva Cannon Sr. and passed away Sunday June 27, 2021 at the age of 91.

He was a resident of the Watonga community most of his life. Ernest graduated from Okeene High School in 1948 and was inducted in the United States Army in …… He served as the Assistant Postmaster of the Watonga Post Office for 35 years. Ernest was a member of the American Legion, loved OU Football and the Dodgers.

Ernest married Beverly Jean Bright at the Watonga Methodist Church on November 20, 1970. They were married for 50 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife; Beverly, several brothers and sisters; Doris Jeffers, Dorothy Lansdon, Lester Cannon and Donald Cannon, as well as three son-in-laws and one son; Gary.

He is survived by:

Mike Thomas of Arcadia, FL
Two daughters
Vernetta Vinson of Macomb, OK
.Cindy Bills of Watonga, OK
12 grandchildren...Billy Don Eaton II, Tony Easton, Kristi Eaton, Stephanie King, Geoffrey Cannon, Geonn Cannon, Amy Ellison, L.J. Thomas, Ashley Thomas, Rosemary Thomas, Mike Thomas Jr., and Scott Thomas.
More than 20 great grandchildren as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Graveside services for Ernest will be held Thursday July 1, 2021, at 2:00 P.M. at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Watonga with Pastor Adam Lovitt officiating. Arrangements by Wilkinson Mortuary of Watonga, OK
