Gloria Dawn (Rutz) Fritz
August 03, 1934 ~ June 09, 2021

Gloria Dawn Fritz was born August 3, 1934 at Okeene, Oklahoma to Harry and May Irene (Knobf) Rutz. She departed this life on Wednesday, June 9th, 2021 at Enid, Oklahoma.

Her family moved to Southard, Oklahoma from Okeene in 1936, then moved to Canton in 1944. They relocated to Kansas in 1945 and moved to Midland, California in 1946. Gloria graduated from Palo Verde High School in California. She married Don Fritz on October 2, 1953 at Quartzite, Arizona. In 1966, the US Gypsum plant and town were closed at Midland, California and the family relocated to Richfield, Utah. After Don retired in 1980, they moved to Canton. Gloria was known to make lots of candy for her family and her peanut brittle was especially loved. She was a member of the “coffee ladies” at Herod Drug Store in Canton.

Gloria was preceded in death by parents; husband Don Fritz; daughter Donna Sue Fritz; sister Judy Gallo and son-in-law Fred Seifried.

Gloria is survived by two sons, Terry Fritz and wife Carol and their son Samuel, of Riverside, CA, son Corky Fritz and wife Cindy and their sons Donny and wife Jenny of San Antonio, Texas and Jay and wife Meg of Round Rock, TX; one daughter Debra Seifried of Seiling, OK and her daughters Jennifer Coons and husband Dirk and Janette Redinger and husband Jason both of Seiling, OK; her 9 great- grandchildren Chloe Nailon, Jolee Redinger, Paige and Kendra Coons, Lilly and Maddie Fritz, Cole, Will and Evan Fritz; nephews are David, Vernon and Michael Gallo.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Roselawn Cemetery, Okeene, OK with Pastor Orval Peters officiating. Memorials may be made to the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church of Watonga with the funeral home serving as custodian at P.O. Box 36, Canton, OK 73724. Condolences may be made online at www.piercefuneralhomes.com.
