Roger James Becker

July 4, 1947 - June 1, 2017

Okeene-Funeral service for Roger is Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. Viewing will be Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Then the family will be present 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. to receive friends.

Roger was born on July 4, 1947 in Okeene to Lee Allen "Bus" Becker and Esther Nusz Becker and passed from this life on June 1, 2017 in Oklahoma City. After graduating Okeene High School in 1966, Roger served in the U.S. Army from 1966 until 1969 and the Reserves until 1972. On June 7, 2003 Roger married Bessie Lucille Pearson. Roger was a lifetime Okeene resident except the time he served in the Army. He was a Meter Technician for Center Point Energy. Roger also worked for Becker-Bierig Ford and Okeene Supply for a number of years. Roger enjoyed wood carving, hunting and fishing. He and his brother, Jay Lee, did lots of target shooting together, winning many trophies. His hunting companions were his beloved beagle dogs. Roger also participated in the Canton Walleye Fishing Derby. Roger was a fan of many sports.

Those who preceded Roger in death include his parents; his grandparents; his step daughter, Gina Haffner; half-brother, Eddie Becker and nephew, Lance Becker.

Survivors include his wife, Bessie; step children, Andy Wedel and wife, Linda and Randy Wedel; seven step grandchildren, Ryan Haffner and wife, Aubrey, Brock Haffner, Claire Haffner, Courtney Miller and husband, Michael, Kacie Wedel, Mackenzie Wedel, Todd Wedel; two step great grandchildren, Zayden Haffner and Jaxon Miller; two brothers, Jay Lee Becker and wife, Donna and Ronnie Becker; one sister, Doris Koehn and husband, Victor; numerous other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be given to Oklahoma Parkinson's Foundation through the funeral home.
