PEARLE LORENZ

Funeral service for Pearle Lorenz, 99, of Okeene, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Baptist Church in Okeene with the Rev. Monte Michaelson officiating. Burial will be in Lorenz Cemetery near Loyal. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Okeene.

Friends may call at the funeral home today from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and at the church before services.

She was born Nov. 6, 1905, on a farm seven miles east of Hitchcock to Fred Edward (F.E.) and Kathryn Elizabeth Laubach Lorenz. She died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2005, at The Living Center in Enid.

She attended Cooper community and Center schools before going to Hitchcock High School. She worked at several trades before returning to Okeene in the 1930s. She was a self-taught seamstress and worked out of her home while caring for her parents. She was a member of Zion Baptist Church.

Surviving are a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
