Date: December 16, 2008

The funeral for Mabel Kummell, 91, of Enid, formerly of Longdale, will be 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, 2008, at Canton Christian Church. Steve Driskill will officiate. Burial will be in Longdale Cemetery. Arrangements are by Haigler-Pierce Funeral Home, Canton.

She was born April 8, 1917, near Watonga to Fredrick William and Maude Frances Smith and died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008, at Enid Senior Care Center.

She was raised on a farm west of Watonga.

She married Leroy Kummell Oct. 1, 1937, in Kingfisher. They made their home in Enid.

Surviving are four sons, Dwayne Kummell and Bob Kummell, both of Enid, Rick Kummell of Kingfisher, and Gary Kummell of Las Cruces, N.M.; one brother, Ivan Smith of Wichita, Kan.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband Leroy and nine brothers and sisters.
