The funeral for Karen Ann Hicks Coulson, 66, of Longdale, will be 3 p.m. today, Aug. 16, 2009, at Canton Christian Church. Steve Driskill will officiate. Burial will be in Longdale Cemetery. Arrangements are by Haigler-Pierce Funeral Home, Canton.

She was born March 23, 1943, in Canton, to William and Opal Reed Hicks and died Thursday, Aug. 13, 2009, in South Dakota.

She attended school in Canton and moved to California. She moved back to Oklahoma in 1980. She worked as a secretary for G&W Salvage. She had also been a field worker and provided in-home health care to the elderly.

Surviving are four children, Cynthia Brown of Yankton, S.D., Janet Woods of Longdale, Todd Coulson of Longdale, and Lisa Beaver of Okeene; four brothers and four sisters; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother, one sister and one great-grandson.
