Jerry Ray Scott went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 2, 2009. He was born on June 22, 1958 in Thomas, Oklahoma to Melvin & Mildred Grabow Scott. He attended & graduated Canton High School with the class of 1976. In 1980, Jerry met the absolute love of his life when he met Carie Kephart. Carie & Jerry were married on August 10, 1984 in Okeene, Oklahoma. They made their home in Eagle City where they later welcomed their two sons, Derrick Ray Scott & Kelby Lane Scott. Jerry was a member of the First Christian Church in Eagle City. Jerry, along with Carie & their two boys were engaged in a farm & ranch operation. While their boys were growing up, Jerry & Carie were actively involved in all of their FFA projects. Jerry loved to camp at the lake with his family & always seemed to pull a prank on just about anyone. He was a devoted & loving husband to Carie & he was a hero, and great role model to his two boys. Jerry's family meant the world to him & he would do anything to help them whenever he could. Jerry was always "Uncle Jerry" to all of his nieces and nephews. Carie & Jerry's love for each other was so precious, he adored & loved her deeply & took great care of her. They were a team & were beside each other during their 24 1/2 years of marriage. He was so proud of how his two fine sons were turning into great men. Jerry retired from United States Gypsum Company in Southard after 16 1/2 years of employment, and at the time of his death he was employed at PKL Construction in Elk City, Oklahoma. Jerry is survived by his wife Carie, son Derrick & wife Kodi of Canton, son Kelby of the home, his mother Mildred Scott, his brother Duane Scott, sister Karen Schoonmaker, and brother Larry Scott, all of Canton, and his mother & father-in-law, Jess & Judy Kephart of Canton. As well as a host of many nieces, nephews & loved ones. He is proceeded in death by his father Melvin Scott, and his grandparents Roy & Louise Scott, and Fred & Esther Grabow.
