Phyllis Owings
(June 21, 1927 - December 12, 2008)

Graveside services for Phyllis Edith Owings, of Watonga, OK will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, December 15, 2008 at Eagle City Cemetery with Steve Driskill of Canton Christian Church officiating. Services are under the direction of Haigler-Pierce Funeral Home, Canton, Oklahoma. Phyllis was born June 21, 1927 at Edmond, OK to Cleveland Abernathy and Stella (Warrick) Barnett. She departed this life on Friday evening, December 12, 2008 at Weatherford, OK. She was raised and educated at Eagle City, OK and graduated from Eagle City High School. She married Everett “Chub” Owings on December 21, 1947. Chub passed away on September 27, 1982. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter Charlene; one granddaughter; one sister; one nephew; Phyllis is survived by one brother, C.A. Barnett of Edmond, OK; and two nieces; Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society with the funeral home serving as custodian. Condolences may be made online at www.haiglerpierce.com.
