Levern Anthony Biggs was born May 2, 1933, northeast of Hitchcock, OK on the family farm to James and Albina Pospisial Biggs and passed away Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008, at the age of 74.

He was a resident of the Hitchcock community his entire life. He graduated from Hitchcock High School in 1951. After graduation he joined the National Guard.

He married Betty Ann Oberst Dec. 9, 1953. He worked for various businesses throughout his life and farmed. Levern was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hitchcock, OK.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; his parents; one brother, Byron Biggs; and three grandchildren, Timothy and Wishu Kupka and Monty D. Brown.

He is survived by four sons, Dennis Anthony Biggs of Dover, Danny Lee Biggs of Mustang, Donald Raymond Biggs of Fairview, and John Edward Biggs and wife Mary of Hitchcock, OK; three daughters, Diane Marie Yost and husband Mike of Kingfisher, OK, Debbie Sue Kupka and husband Tim of Elk City, OK, and Beverly Kay Brown and husband Roger of Canton, OK; two brothers, Lester Biggs of Newalla, OK, and Leroy Biggs of Hitchcock, OK; two sisters, Leona Nitzel of Watonga, OK, and Bonnie Larison of Norman, OK; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Rosary services will be 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2008, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Watonga. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, 2008, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Watonga, OK with Father Denis Hanrahan as celebrant. Burial will follow in Cottonwood Cemetery, Hitch-cock, OK with Wilkinson Mortuary of Watonga in charge of arrangements. 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Hitchcock Fire Department with Wilkinson Mortuary acting as custodian. (Paid Obit 1-17-1)
