Havilah Hockett

Mr. Havilah Hockett
DIED: --Near Okeene, OK., January 26th 1903, of paralysis, Havilah Hockett, aged 75 years 1 month 23 days.
Mr. Hockett was born in Randolph Co., Ind., and went to Keokuk county, Iowa in 1845 and went to Warren county in 1846 and resided there until he came to Oklahoma in 1894 and bought a claim on which he made proof about a year ago. He leaves a wife and six children, two daughters and four sons and had buried two children.

Mrs. Bloom, of Milo, Iowa, a daughter of Havilah Hockett, arrived at her father's on Monday, of last week, to attend her dying father.

[NOTE: There are several persons named Hockett buried in the Collins Cemetery, near Okeene. However, there is no stone for Havilah Hockett, but there are three small stones with the name Hockett on them.]
