Matthew Brown III was born July 2, 1933 to Matthew and Ruth Shackleford Brown on the family farm in Isabella that his grandfather took in the land run. He passed away Thursday, November 8 at the age of 85 in OU Medical Center due to injuries sustained in an auto accident.

He was a resident of the Isabella community all of his life where he farmed and operated a machine shop.

Matthew and Jennifer returned to the family farm where they farmed, raised cattle and pigs. They were blessed with two children, Berry Brown Nault and David Brown.

Matthew had a strong desire to help his fellow farmers so he began operating a machine shop were he made many repairs and built many friendships.

In his spare time he enjoyed fishing with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew and Ruth Brown, his brothers Addison and Arlyn Brown and his sister Betty Brown Hodges.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jennifer Brown of the home in Isabella, son David Brown and wife Lori also of Isabella, daughter Berry Nault and husband Mike of Enid, sister Nina Ruth Waack of Fort Smith, Arkansas, grandchildren Jeremy Ensminger and Penny Meier of Okeene, Jenny Brown of Kansas City, Chris Nault and wife Megan of Enid, Adrian Nault Danysko and husband Vitalik of Kansas City, Danial Nault of Bakersfield, California and Trey Brown of Isabella, great-grandchildren Bryson Ensminger of Stillwater and Carson and Nathan Nault of Enid, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Services are pending, but likely a graveside service for Matthew will be held on Friday afternoon, November 16 at Collins Cemetery. A celebration of his life will be held at one of the local reception halls following the service. All friends and family are invited to attend both places. Reverend Gaylon Cox will be officiating the service. Burial will be in Collins Cemetery in Okeene with Wilkinson Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
