SHELDON ROBISON


A graveside service for Sheldon Robison, 52, of Oklahoma City, will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Cherryvale Cemetery, east of Canton. Steve Driskill will officiate. Arrangements are by Haigler Funeral Home, Canton.

He was born Jan. 11, 1953, to Wendell and Naomi Robison and died Saturday, Aug. 6, 2005, at Oklahoma City.

He grew up in the Southard and Canton area and graduated from Canton High School in 1971. After graduation, he made a career in the oil field. He was employed by Weatherford International LTD. He invented several of the "fishing tools" used in the oil field and was one of the top 12 fishing tool experts in the industry. Because of health problems, he returned to the United States a year ago from Doah, Qatar, where he had been working. He married Viola Ann Cooper Dec. 6, 2004, in Oklahoma City.

Surviving are his wife, Viola, of the home in Oklahoma City; one son, Mike Robison of Hennessey; four stepsons, Donald Clark of Missouri, David, Sean and Travis Ketcher, all of Tulsa; three stepdaughters, Kelly Renee Bengs and Shannon Denise Given, both of Kingfisher, and Misty Hickman of Blanchard; his father, Wendell Robison of Canton; his mother, Naomi Robison of Hennessey; one brother, Kelly Robison of Hennessey; four grandchildren and 13 stepgrandchildren.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Diabetes Association, The Amputee Support Organization or Amputee Coalition of America.
