A graveside service for Jean Milligan, 83, of Longdale, will be 2 p.m. Sunday, June 7, 2009 at Cherryvale Cemetery east of Canton. Steve Driskill will officiate. Visitation with family will be 3-8 p.m. today at Haigler-Pierce Funeral Home, Canton.

She was born Dec. 16, 1925, near Southard to Stephen Joseph and Floy Riley Stuteville and died Friday, June 5, 2009, in Enid.

She attended school at Southard.

She married Victor Milligan Feb. 28, 1942, at Fairview.

She owned and operated My-O-My Club and Country Kitchen Café, both in Longdale. During World War II she worked in Wichita, Kan., as a "Rosie the Riveter." She was a quilter and seamstress.

Surviving are three sons, David Milligan of Edmond, Danny Milligan of Canton and Tony Milligan of Noble; one sister, Nita Grimes-Cook, Midwest City; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor, and one daughter.

The graveside service for Jean Milligan, 83, of Longdale, OK will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 7, 2009 at Cherryvale Cemetery east of Canton with Steve Driskill officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Haigler-Pierce Funeral Home of Canton, OK. Jean was born December 16, 1925 near Southard, OK to Stephen Joseph and Floy (Riley) Stuteville. She departed this life on Friday morning, June 5, 2009 at Enid, OK. Jean attended school at Southard, OK. She owned and operated the My-O-My Club and the Country Kitchen Café, both of Longdale. During World War II, she worked at Wichita, KS as a “Rosie the Riveter”. Jean was an avid quilter and seamstress, and enjoyed crafts and cooking. She married Victor Milligan on Feb. 28, 1942 at Fairview, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Victor Milligan; and one daughter, Judith Brown; She will live on in the hearts of her three sons, David Milligan of Edmond, OK, Danny Milligan of Canton, OK, and Tony Milligan of Noble, OK and their families, which include numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Nita Grimes-Cook of Midwest City, OK; The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. through 8:00 p.m. Saturday.
