Joyce L. Dickey
(April 10, 1929 - April 13, 2016)

The funeral services for Joyce L. Dickey, 87, of Canton, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 18, 2016 at Canton Christian Church with Steve Driskill of the Canton Christian Church officiating. Joyce Loretta (Reames) Dickey was born on April 10, 1929 at Isabella, OK in the home of her grandma and grandpa Reames, to parents Everett and Leona (Roark) Reames. She passed away on April 13, 2016 in the Weatherford Living Center, Weatherford, OK. She was raised in the Fairview, OK area where she attended Fairview Schools. She went skating one night at the Isabella skating rink where she met the love of her life Kenneth Dickey, when she slipped, he caught her and then they fell in love.

Kenneth and Joyce married on May 12, 1948. To this union were born four daughters, Rhonda, Kenya, Leslie and Tracey. Before the girls were born they enjoyed traveling. They visited many states and one trip with friends to Canada. Joyce also worked at the Southard Cafe for several years then when they started their family she became a full time mom of what she'd say were “four active daughters”. She loved to sew, and made her girls lots of beautiful clothes, for Easter, Christimas, first days of school and many formals for Rainbow. When the girls were grown she started piecing quilts and embroidering quilt tops and made many quilts for family and friends. She was her grandchildren's biggest fan and loved every minute spent with them, and loved bragging about them! Kenneth and Joyce loved taking the family and camping. After Kenneth retired they took up camping again, many times with a group of their dearest friends at Canton Lake. Joyce was a member of the Canton Christian Church of Canton, OK.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Kenneth Dickey; four brothers, Jerry, Earl, Will and Jackie; her mother and father-in-law, Lillie and Lynn Dickey; three sister-in-laws, Deanie Reames, Erlene Reames and Verla Long; and brother-in-law Max Long; Survivors include four daughters, Tracey Dickey of Thomas, OK, Rhonda and Mike Kusch of Fairview, OK, and their children Michele and Steve Dowdy and Presley and Ethan, Dana and Wayne Richter and Cole, and Amy Sutton and Amber, Alysa and Ava, Kenya and Mike Lawson of Weatherford, OK, and their children Marcie and Alan Kohout and Emilee and Luke, Leslie and David Hightower of Thomas, OK, and their children DJ and Marty Hightower and Lillie and Davis, and Lacie and Nathan Dunn and Tracy and Jacob; two sister-in-laws she dearly loved, Lea Reames and Barbara (Reames) Vilott; honorary family members Leroy and Joy Phillips and their daughters Debbie and Vonda and families; the little girl she babysat and considered another grandchild Chasity and Ray Robertson and their children Jasmine, Ryker, Easton and Olivia; also many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends;
