STELLA TACHAVANICH


A traditional wake for Stella Green Tachavanich, 57, of Canton, will be 8 to 10 p.m. Tuesday at Canton Community Center. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church, Canton. Paul Beartrack and Kenneth Siemen will officiate. Burial will be in Canton Indian Cemetery. Arrangements are by Haigler Funeral Home Inc., Canton.

She was born Sept. 11, 1948, in Canton to Albert and Lola Whiteman Green and died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2005, at her home after a battle with cancer.

She grew up and attended school in Canton. She worked in nursing homes in Okeene and Fairview. She also worked at Hallren's Turkey Processing Plant in Fairview and for Western Electric, Honeywell Co., the Sportsman Cafe and Clara Dixon's cafe. She was a member of Canton Indian Baptist Church.

Surviving are one daughter, Regina, of the home; two sisters, Vicki Walker of El Reno and Minnie Moses of McAlester; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
