George LeRoy Garman, Jr.
(November 23, 1943 - August 15, 2014)

The funeral for George Leroy Garman Jr., 70, of Longdale, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Canton Christian Church with Steve Driskill officiating. Burial will be in Canton Cemetery. Arrangements are by Haigler-Pierce Funeral Home, Canton. George was born November 23, 1943, at home on the farm near Canton, OK, to George Leroy Garman Sr. and Irene (Cravens) Garman. He died Friday, August 15, 2014. George graduated from Canton High School. He married Mildred Marie (Wooten) Garman on October 20, 1962. They made their home in Oakwood and Enid before settling in Canton. George worked at the U.S Gypsum Plant at Southard for many years, but his passion was farming. Surviving are one daughter, Cheryl Brannum; a son, James Garman; three sisters, Shirley Cole of Moore, Kathy Jellison of Moore, and Karen Fellinger of Tulsa; two grandchildren, Chandra and Macie; and many nephews, nieces and great nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred; grandson, Chad; and his parents. Memorials may be made in his honor to Canton Christian Church, in lieu of flowers.
