James Henderson Stevens, the eight year old son of Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Stevens living south of Grimes died at the local hospital Monday August 6, 1923. An operation was performed for appendicitis but peritonitis having set in there seemed to be nothing could be done to save the little fellow. The remains were placed in charge of Grubitz and Son who prepared the body for burial and took it to the home, accompanied by many relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon, with interment at Wayland cemetery, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.

The bereaved ones have the sympathy of all in their sorrow.
