Addie Belle Underwood Wright

Addie Belle Underwood, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Underwood, was born July 5, 1874 in Mercer County, Missouri and departed this life May 17, 1947 in Corona, California at the age of 72 years, 10 months and 12 days.
She was united in marriage to George W. Wright on January 9, 1892, at Heminford, Nebraska. To this union eleven children were born, seven sons and four daughters. One daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Horner, preceded her in death in 1938.
Besides her husband survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Inice Freeman, Atlant, Texas; Mrs. Izetta Sloan, Nevada, Mo.; and Mrs. Ruby Smith, Wichita, Kansas. Seven sons, Cecil, Indion, Calif.; Claude, Atlanta, Kansas; George, near Breezy Meadow; Clyde, Sayre; Chester, near Crawford, Jessie, near Crawford; and Roy, Atlanta, Texas. Fourteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends also survive.
Mother Wright was converted and united with the Free Will Baptist Church at Parkersburg in August of 1907. She was a loyal and devoted companion a loving mother, and a kind friend to all who knew her.
Services were held in the Baptist church of Cheyenne, with Rev. C.B. Reneau officiating and assisted by Rev. J.T. Beal of Carter. She was laid to rest in the Silent Home Cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of the Tunnard's Funeral Home.
