Dale Parson Baker

Dale Parson Baker was born August 6, 1918 near Durham, OK to Fannie Mae and Don P. Baker and passed away November 3, 1997 in the Great Plains Regional Medical Center at the age of 79 years, 2 months and 27 days. Dale graduated from Durham High School. He married Lucy Mae Armstrong in May of 1938, and they made their home in the Durham area. Dale entered the U.S. Navy and served his country during World War II. Following his discharge, he returned to Durham. He later lived in Erick and Oklahoma City before returning to Durham in 1988. He married Doris Lee Gray on October 17, 1990 and they made their home in Elk City. Dale was a retired truck driver and belonged to the Durham Baptist Church. He attended the Fairview Baptist Church in Elk City. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 1 daughter. He is survived by his wife, Doris of the home; 1 daughter, Peggy Jo Willis, 2 sons Johnny R. and Gene L. Baker, all of Oklahoma City, OK; 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends. Services were held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 5, 1997 with Ray Smart and Claud Williams officiating. Interment followed in Silent Home Cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under direction of Whinery-Savage Funeral Service. Pallbearers were: M.J. Owen, Bob Manhart, Calvin Bachmann, Jimmy Noblitt, Max Montgomery, Donnie Chappell
