Jim "Sonny" Anderson was born November 16, 1930 in Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma to Mary and William Clue Anderson. He passed away January 14, 2015 at Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 84 years, 1 month and 28 days.

Jim grew up in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and attended schools at Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma. At the age of 14 he began working at a service station and then at the age of 16 began locking dams for intercoastal waterways including working on the Ft. Gibson dam. At the age of 18, Jim went back and forth between building dams and the oil field for the majority of his life. He was married to Shirley Ann (Prock) Anderson at Wheeler, Texas on May 3, 1982. In 1983 he retired and enjoyed tinkering on cars, lawn mowers and any odd job that anyone in the community needed. He also enjoyed trail riding, hunting with Jimmie Glen and traveling.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister, Kathleen Noe and 1 brothers, Billy Anderson.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley, of the home; 1 son, Jimmie Glen Anderson and wife, Terry, Perry, MO; 1 daughter, Edith Perry, Louisville, TX; 3 grandchildren, Colin Perry and companion, Melissa, Sweetwater, OK, Kelsey Anderson and fiance', Josh Caldwel, Perry, MO and Karle Gilbreath and husband, Johnny, Erick, OK; 11 great grandchildren; 1 brother, E.G. Anderson, Tulsa, OK and a host of other relatives and, friends.
