Asa Laverne "Bo" Bailey

Asa Laverne (Bo) Bailey was born to Alice and Ace Bailey on June 26, 1929, in Sayre, Oklahoma. He passed away March 5, 2016 at Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 86 years, 8 months and 9 days.

He met the love of his life, Winifred E. Helton, in 1949, and married her on April 22, 1950. Bo worked in the oilfields of North Dakota, Mississippi, Louisiana, the Gulf of Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, Montana and Wyoming for 38 years. He retired to his hometown of Sayre in 1988 because of his health. There he enjoyed Winnie's cooking, visiting friends and family, gardening and growing his pretty flowers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Sheila; granddaughter, Jessica; son-in-law, Dan; three sisters and four brothers.

Bo is survived by his dear, loving wife of 66 years, "Winnie", of the home; 2 daughters, Verna Jespersen and husband, Chris, Abingdon, VA and "Little Bit" Marion George, Belgrade, MT; 10 grandchildren, Mark Jespersen and wife, Erin, Michael Jespersen and wife, Danna, Monika Weigand and husband, Jamie, Amanda Day and husband, Chad, Matthew Jespersen and wife, Ashley, Emily Vigness and husband, Chris, Angela Jesperson, Ryan George, Caleb George and wife, Paulina and Avery George; 16 great grandchildren; 1 cousin, Pete Bailey and wife, Marge, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 2:30 pm at Lone Oak Cemetery officiated by his son-in-law and his grandchildren. Burial will be at Lone Oak Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service. Condolences can be made online at www.whineryfs.com
