Velma Sipe Reinschmiedt

 

Velma Sipe Reinschmiedt, 90, of Alma, Arkansas, formerly of Elk City, Oklahoma died at home on October 31, 2011. She was born in Guion, Arkansas to Joseph Richard and Lena Gladys (Dale) Sipe on April 21, 1921. At the age of 6, the family relocated to Bessie, Oklahoma, where Velma met and later married M.A. (Red) Reinschmiedt in 1939. They moved to Elk City and resided there until Red's death in 1994. After residing a short time in Clinton, Oklahoma she decided to move to Alma, Arkansas to make her home.

Velma was a devout Christian and was a member of the Elk City Pentecostal Church and attended the Kibler Freewill Baptist Church since moving to Alma.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J.R. and Lena Gladys Sipe, husband, Red Reinschmiedt and one sister, Georgia Twyman, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Survivors include her sisters, Ethel Reinschmiedt, Alma, Arkansas, Rudene Goucher and husband Forrest of Clinton, Oklahoma; brothers, Francis Sipes and wife, Manell of Elk City, OK and Richard Sipe and wife, Laura of Alma, Arkansas, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends and loved ones.
