Donald Carter Nichols passed from this life in Elk City, OK on September 18, 2020, at the age of 91 years, 11 months and 24 days.

Don was born September 25, 1928, to his parents Thomas Edward and Anna Belle (Messer) Nichols in Elk City, OK.

Don and Priscilla were married near Hutchinson, KS on August 17, 1957 and later moved to Oklahoma City, OK where they made their home.  In 1982 they moved to Elk City where Don owned and operated Western Seamless Guttering until 2008. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and was a great collector of Oklahoma history.  Don was featured with Channel 4 on the broadcast of "Is This A Great State Or What?", which he was very honored.


Although Don is no longer with us, his memory and legacy will be kept alive through the family and friends he leaves behind which include; his wife of 63 years, Priscilla Nichols of the home; 1 daughter:  Ruth Ann Heiderich and husband Kent of Oklahoma City, OK; 1 sister:  Mary Ola Garretson of Gilroy, CA; 1 daughter-in-law:  Vicki Nichols of Oklahoma City, OK; 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren as well as a host of longtime friends and neighbors.
 

Don is preceded in death by 2 sons:  Don Ray and John Lawrence Nichols; 2 brothers: C.L. Dedmon and Toby Nichols.
 

Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM, Wednesday, September 23, 2020, at Fairlawn Cemetery with Pastor Edward Lewin officiating.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 22, 2020, from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM and Wednesday, September from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Whinery Funeral Service, Elk City.
