Nancy Abigail "Abbie" (Kendall) Young--Funeral services for Mrs. Nancy Abbie Young who died Monday, November 25, 1972 in Elk City Nursing Home were conducted from the Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Elk City Wednesday, November 29 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Bob Denny officiating.
 
Burial was in the Fairlawn cemetery, Elk City, Oklahoma.
 
Mrs. Young was born October 24, 1888, in Corsicana, Texas. She was 84. She came to western Oklahoma with her parents in 1900 and the family settled at Cheyenne in Roger Mills County, where she was married to William Leon Young, October 6, 1907. They lived at Cheyenne where Mr. Young was employed by the Cheyenne State Bank until 1913 then they moved to Strong City where they were engaged in ranching until 1946 when they moved to Elk City. They celebrated their 50th anniversary on October 6, 1956.
 
Mr. Young preceded her in death June 23, 1958. Mrs. Young was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church.
 
Survivors includes 2 daughters, Mrs. Truman Farmer, and Mrs. Earl McCowan, both of Elk City, a sister, Mrs. Bird Weber, of Oklahoma City; 2 granddaughters, Mrs. Bruce Hunter, Dallas, Texas. Mrs. Billy Jones, of Oklahoma City; 3 great grandchildren.
