Funeral services for Alec B. LeGrand will be conducted Monday, September 9, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. From the Martin Funeral Chapel of Elk City with Chuck Milner officiating. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Martin Funeral Home of Elk City.

Alec B. LeGrand was born November 9, 1924 at Mayfield, OK to Samuel Alexander and Bessie (Cummings) LeGrand and passed away Friday, September 6, 2013 at the age of 88. He attended Sweetwater schools and at the age of 15 moved to the farm in the Sweetwater and Reydon area where he has lived since.

He was married to Donnaleitta Porter on February 20, 1952. Mr. LeGrand was a farmer, dairy farmer, rancher, carpenter, brick and stone layer during his working career. He served on the Reydon School Board and along with his wife were class parents for all 3 children. He served many years on the Upper Washita Soil Conservation Board, a board member of SWODA for some 8 years, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge achieving the status of a 32nd Degree Mason.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 5 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his wife: Donnaleitta LeGrand of the home, 3 children: Alexia Kay White and her husb and Frank of Fay, OK, Roy LeGrand and his wife Deanna of Reydon, OK, Rex LeGand and his wife Linda of Greenwood, AR, 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 2 sisters, Iris LeGrand of Sweetwater, OK and Kay Hammons of Amarillo, TX.
