Freida Mae (Mutschler) Jones, 82, passed away July 24, 2013.  Freida was born May 9, 1931 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Fred George and Luella (Donahoo) Mutschler. 

Freida first began working as a cosmetologist for Maggie’s Beauty Shop and later worked in the financial industry as a loan officer for OU Credit Union. 

She volunteered at Norman Regional Hospital and was a faithful member of Goodrich Memorial United Methodist Church, enjoying the many church trips and being active in several groups including the GCGR’s. 

She was a member of the Women of the Moose, Norman Lodge 1799, where she served as Sr. Regent. 

Freida and her husband enjoyed camping, traveling to Del Rio and Port Aransas, Texas, and square dancing with their Silver Spurs group.

Above all, she loved being with her family and adored her grandchildren.  Freida will be greatly missed by countless loved ones and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert “Bob” Jones, and brother J.D. Mutschler. 

Survivors include her son Michael Jones and wife Pam of Norman, daughter Cheryl Bost and husband Eddie of Norman; grandchildren, Heather Kirby, Elrich Bost and wife Heather, Tanner B. Jones, Ariel A. Bost, and Rosie Jones; great grandchildren, Taylor Willige, Riley Kirby, and Freya Bost; as well as many nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be 12:00-8:00 PM Saturday and 1:00-8:00 PM on Sunday with the family greeting friends on Sunday from 2:00-4:00 PM. 

Services to celebrate Freida’s life will be 10:00 AM Monday, July 29 at Goodrich Memorial United Methodist Church, 200 W. Hayes St., Norman.  Interment will follow at 3:00 PM at Fairlawn Cemetery in Elk City.

Arrangements for Freida and her family were placed in the care of the Vice family at the Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman. Online condolences may be shared at havenbrookfuneralhome.com
